I hope you had a great summer break and enjoyed some time in the sun (or working on projects).
We wanted to provide an update on upcoming changes and events over the next few weeks.
MakerMeet (Grill edition)
On Saturday, 15th August, we will be hosting another social meetup at the makerspace — this time armed with a grill and drinks for us all to catch up. We can talk about upcoming projects (or show off any you have worked on over the past months).
The event will take place from 13:00 and will end around 17:00. If you wish to attend, RSVP on Discord or at the following link:
Repurpose Marketplace
Based on community feedback, we are introducing a new channel to Discord for members to thrift off any old materials or project parts before they are taken to recycling. To use the new channel, you must abide by the following conditions:
- An item must be listed for a minimum of 7 days.
- The listing must include a photo of the item.
- The listing must be marked as thrown out or deleted at the end of the duration.
- If a listing goes unanswered during the established time, it is the responsibility of the post author to dispose of the item.
Two exemptions to items being thrown out include cleaning days and community events. If you have any further questions regarding the above points, please direct them to a board member for clarity.
The new channel will come into immediate effect from 1st August.
